Family Lawyer |
|
Barbara is a skilled family law practitioner with an approachable manner and a keen sensitivity to people who are distressed, angry or anxious.
Barbara has considerable experience in all aspects of family law including:
• Children’s matters, both by consent and litigation
• Financial settlements after separation, for both married and de facto couples
• Financial Agreements (often called ‘pre-nuptial agreements’ or ‘pre-nups’) for both married couples and those in de facto relationships
• Spousal maintenance and child support
• Intervention Orders
• Divorce.
Barbara’s approach is to attempt to resolve issues with cooperation and to achieve amicable settlements as far as possible. However, she has also had considerable success in running litigation when the other party has refused to be reasonable.
Barbara has a MA (Hons) degree in Philosophy and she believes that this has given her considerable skill in clear thinking and analysis. She worked as a Community Development worker in the area of family violence before studying Law as a mature age student, giving her valuable experience with a wide range of people from many different backgrounds.
Outside of work, Barbara reads far too many crime novels, drinks too much coffee and has no interest whatsoever in Aussie Rules football (unless she wins the Footy tipping by sheer fluke).
